Just a little preparation for the Dementia Support Group today

We like to make everyone feel welcome here at Dove Cottage Day Hospice, we offer our services to those living with life-limiting conditions throughout the week and on the fourth Friday of each month we offer a new service for the carers and those who have a diagnosis of Dementia.

Carers: We offer a place for you to come and talk, gather information and gain peer support to help with your caring role.

Dementia patient: We hold activity sessions which include games, craft making, singing and much more…

Dementia is not a specific disease. It’s an overall term that describes a wide range of symptoms associated with a decline in memory or other thinking skills severe enough to reduce a person’s ability to perform everyday activities. Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 60 to 80% of cases.

Anne Skydive’s for Dove!

Anne Porter of the Rotary Club of Uppingham, has expressed her wish to raise funds, primarily for Dove Cottage Day Hospice, Rutland, plus other local charities. Anne is a very courageous 86 year-old great-grandmother who is aiming to raise the funds by making her first Sky Dive from 10,000ft above Old Sarum; she seeks your support to achieve her objective for this very worthwhile local charity.

If you are able to support her, please make a donation to help her realise her ambition.
