It is a magnet for trekkers the world over and one of the most impressive charity events on offer.
Its snow-capped summit rises high above the dusty African plains; huge permanent glaciers flow down from the summit, spectacular views and beautiful ice formations are the reward for pushing our limits both physically and mentally on this, the mightiest of charity challenges.
This is a tough trek in the world of charity challenge events which follows the beautiful Machame Route, approaching Kilimanjaro from the south. Our route has been designed allowing gradual acclimatisation to the altitude – with an extra day included from the more traditional Machame Route, this gives us the platform for summit success. With our exceptional support and care combined with highly trained leaders and medics, we will achieve and conquer the toughest of treks together as one.
Our trek for charity takes us through dense tropical rainforest, moorland and scree until we reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point. This is one of the most challenging charity treks at altitude, climbing one of the most impressive mountains in the world. On reaching the summit we will feel a sense of overwhelming achievement – a truly unforgettable charity challenge with exceptional support and encouragement.

Great Wall of China
“You have not lived if you have not been to the Great Wall”, or so the Chinese saying goes, and it’s not surprising why! The Great Wall of China has been voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Stretching for 6,000km, it zig zags its way across China, snaking across mountains and through valleys.
The China Great Wall Trek for charity is a fantastic 5 day hike along this awesome man made structure. One of the best in charity treks, this challenge takes you over watch towers and mountains, through historic battlement stations that are well off the tourist trail – there are many sections during this charity challenge where you will feel the Great Wall is for you only, with no-one else in sight. Rest assured, the Great Wall provides a fantastic backdrop to some fantastic trekking.
Exclusive to Global Adventure Challenges, this most amazing of fundraising events also enables us to ‘lend a hand’ repairing a section of the Wall that is currently being reconstructed. Each will place a brick in this newly restored section, ensuring your own place in the Great Wall of China!
The trekking on this charity challenge is hard, due to the amount of steps we trek up and down each day – it can sometimes take an hour just to trek 1km on this glorious structure! Another highlight of this challenge is to conquer the 1,000 steps up to the wall at Mutianyu – culminating with the ascent of the ‘Heavenly Ladder’.
