Dove Cottage Day Hospice provides Day Care including therapeutic and social support for people with palliative care needs in a comfortable and homely setting, as well as vital respite for carers. Our Day Care premises are purpose built and include a lounge, dining room, craft room, quiet room, treatment room, complementary therapy room and bathroom.
It is completely accessible for those with mobility problems, including wheelchair users, and is set within beautiful gardens surrounded by the tranquil Vale of Belvoir countryside.
Day care is available from Monday to Thursday each week, with the focus of care on maximising quality of life. Guests are free to choose how they spend their time at Dove Cottage Day Hospice, so whilst many like to join in with the activities provided, others prefer to simply relax and enjoy the tranquility of the hospice and gardens.
Guests of Dove Cottage Day Hospice are cared for by a team that includes highly qualified registered nurses, health care assistants, complementary therapists, a chaplaincy team and volunteers, including drivers who transport guests to and from the hospice.
Every guest is allocated a named nurse who will discuss their needs and prepare an individual plan of care with them. The nurse will also liaise with other health care providers in order to provide continuity of care. All guests will have their needs reviewed every three months or whenever changes occur.
All of our services are provided free of charge, as well as a lovely home-cooked 3-course lunch catering for any special dietary needs, and the provision of transport to and from Dove Cottage if required.
