The Family Support Services that Dove Cottage Day Hospice provides is a supportive palliative care service for people who are unable to attend day care, for whatever reason, either temporarily or for the long-term.
Family Support Services include:
- Home visits
- Regular telephone contact
- Home sitting service by volunteers
- Home visits by Complementary Therapist
- Visits by one of our Chaplaincy Team
- Escort/Transport for hospital appointments
- Carer respite/support
Once every 2 months, we also hold regular carer support days which are led by our Family Support Worker. These are held at Dove Cottage and give people a chance to meet up with others who are in a similar situation, get advice, swap helpful tips and enjoy a delicious home-cooked lunch.
