Paid Roles

Cook role

Cook — Stathern Hospice

Working hours: 20 hours (Mon-Thurs) 9am - 2pm

You’ll prepare fresh, nutritious meals for up to 40 patients each week, create varied menus, and lead a warm, welcoming kitchen supported by volunteers.

Volunteer Roles

In order to run Dove Cottage we rely heavily on a base of willing volunteers, who selflessly donate their time to help support in all aspects of the charity. If you would like to offer your time to help with a role that is not being actively promoted, please do get in touch!

Hairdresser role

Hairdresser — Volunteer role

Working hours: Various days (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday) Please enquire to find out specific availability

To provide a gentle and compassionate hairdressing service to our hospice guests and carers. We’re looking for an experienced, friendly and reliable hairdresser to offer simple haircuts, styling and blow‑dries in our on‑site salon space. Experience and relevant qualifications are essential. Chaplaincy support role

Chaplaincy support — Volunteer role

Working hours: Various days (Monday/Wednesday/Thursday) Please enquire to find out specific availability

To provide emotional support to hospice guests in a multi-faith setting.

Dementia Support role

Dementia Support — Volunteer role

Working hours: Various days (Monday – Thursday) Ad-hoc visits, not set days.

To support our nursing team with visiting families out in the community to offer social support to individuals to enable their carer some respite. Previous experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

Shop Assistant role

Shop Assistant — Cotgrave shop (Volunteer role)

Working hours: Various days (Monday – Saturday) Please enquire to find out specific availability

To support the shop managers at our Cotgrave charity shop, sorting donations, steaming clothes, restocking, pricing items for sale, using the till and handling customer enquiries.

Responsible to: Shop Manager & Assistant Shop Manager

Fundraising & Events support role

Fundraising & Events support — Volunteer role

Working hours: Various (usually weekends)

To assist the fundraising team at various community events throughout the year. Supporting with set-up/breakdown of stands where required and promoting the hospice services to the wider community.
