In times of high stress and uncertainty, we are very aware that there will be those in our local community who may be suffering, a little or a lot, with their mental health – and we want to help.

With this at the front of our mind, we have been talking to another local organisation who are experts in the field of mental health.

Unlock Your You provides mental health support through its local, Melton Mowbray based helpline. The helpline is a free, confidential service, which is manned by fully trained and qualified volunteers.

It is there as a service for people who need someone to talk to. People who may be experiencing low mood, feelings of loneliness, anxiety or someone who is suffering mentally in general and requires some immediate support.

It is a service that prides itself on being non-judgemental, professional, and caring. And that’s why Dove Cottage is pleased to be working in partnership with them.

We feel passionate about offering a lifeline to those who may be struggling and believe this is a good way for people to access trusted help.

Unlock Your You also offers bereavement support on their helpline, which may be particularly relevant to those of you who are reading this article on Dove Cottage’s website.

We understand that taking that first step can be the most difficult part when you are experiencing feelings of anxiety or low mood, and our hope is that this article will go some way to reassuring you that it is okay to ask for support, and there IS a way.

We really hope this helps you, or someone you know.

It helps me as I am able to interact with other people and allows my husband to have some time independently.
